Central Christian College Recognized with Top Honors at PBL National Leadership Conference in Baltim

 More than 1,700 of America’s best and brightest college students traveled to Baltimore Maryland to Elevate their Future with top future business leaders and showcase their talents as they vied for the opportunity to win more than $92,000 in cash awards.

The Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference was held June 23–26 at Baltimore Convention Center. Participants from across the United States attended this exciting conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and participate in 60 business and business-related competitive events. During the morning of the 26th, the students toured the capitol building in DC and met US District 1 Kansas Representative Roger Marshal.

Central Christian College took a group of 5 students that received national recognition at the PBL Awards of Excellence Program on June 26. The students placed in the top ten in three events and brought 5 awards home in total.

 

 

  • Jody Bohnenblust (McPherson, KS) and J.P. Ray (Broken Arrow., OK) competed in Strategic Analysis and Decision Making and brought home fourth place.
  • Jody Bohnenblust (McPherson, KS) and Meghan Morey (Hutchinson, KS) competed in Business Sustainability and brought home tenth place.
  • Meghan Morey (Hutchinson, KS) and J.P. Ray (B.A., OK) competed in Emerging Business Issues brought home sixth place.
  • The School’s Chapter also placed ninth in its annual chapter business report.
  • The Chapter was also honored in the opening ceremony for raising the third largest amount of funds for the March of Dimes of all the Local PBL Chapters in the country.

The students kept the tradition of placing at nationals for the seventh straight year. The students represented well in the conference and for the state of Kansas. said Heath Whitehouse, Instructor and Local Advisor.

The award was part of a comprehensive national competitive events program sponsored by FBLA-PBL that recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. For many students, the competitive events are the capstone activity of their academic careers. In addition to competitions, students immersed themselves in interactive workshops, visited an information-packed exhibit hall, and heard from motivational keynotes on a broad range of business topics.
